10 THINGS with Titus Welliver

RM: You’re that guy that seems to be in every film and TV show. Your longevity in the business and the resume to go along with it, is quite impressive. How have you been able to maintain a high level of relevancy in an industry that often changes?

TW: I suppose I’m just extremely fortunate that people like what I do, and continue to hire me.

RM: It seems like you’ve worked with just about everyone in the business. Are there any actors still on your wish list?

TW: Yes, several, shall I list them? Mark Ruffalo, Julianne Moore, Brad Pitt, and Morgan Freeman, to name a few.

RM: You’re in the upcoming film, Transformers: Age of Extinction, playing the character, Savoy. You were part of an all-star cast which includes Mark Wahlberg. What was your experience like working with him?

TW: Mark is a warm, open human being. He’s a hard worker and a consummate professional. Such a great actor, I was really impressed with his ability, and the enormous amount of physical work he had to tackle as well.

TF-2

RM: The Transformers series is a fan favorite. What more can you tell us about your character and what we can expect from the film, this time around?

TW: I play James Savoy who runs a paramilitary unit, tasked with the eradication of the remaining Transformers on earth. This film is not a reboot, as people have suggested, but the beginning of a new trilogy. Engaging characters both alien and human. I feel like this film has no limitations on its target audience.

TF-1

RM: We are big fans of On-Demand original series. You’re the lead on Amazon’s Bosch. How did this role come about and what do you enjoy about playing Harry Bosch the most?

TW: I met with Michael Connelly and the producers and things shook out. Harry Bosch is a character with tremendous depth and pathos. While Harry has heroic qualities, he is a classic antihero.

RM: The Bosch show was based off the mega-hit book series by Michael Connelly. With an opportunity like this, does it make it easier for you to bring the character to life?

TW: Yes, on many levels. The history of the character is established but the nuance of his inner life, is open for interpretation.

BOCSH-1

RM: You play a variety of characters, which we love. What types of characters or roles do you tend to gravitate to, the most?

TW: I really don’t gravitate to any specific type of character. What fulfills me, is smart writing.

RM: When you’re not working on set, which is rare, what do you typically do to relax?

TW: My family and I are horse people, so free time is spent riding and taking care of our horses.

RM: When it comes to fashion, do you have any favorite fashion designers that fit your personal sense of style?

TW: I love Hugo Boss, G-Star, AllSaints, Unstoppable and Goose Craft, to name a few.

BOCSH-2

RM: Thanks for taking the time to chat with us. We look forward to seeing you on Transformers and Bosch. What other projects do you have coming up?

TW: I’m so excited to return to shooting Bosch. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to spending time with my new bride and children.
