BEHIND THE SCENES – Laz Alonso

We go behind the scenes with Laz Alonso for our October 2014 Fall TV issue. You may know actor Laz Alonso from movies such as Avatar, Stomp The Yard and Jarhead. But Laz is no stranger to television. He’s also previously starred on USA’s Breakout Kings and on they short-lived series, NBC’s Deception. The great thing about Laz Alonso, is that it seems as though, he never stops working. He’s what you’d call, a blue collar actor. He’s passionate about his craft and he’s known to immerse himself in the roles and characters he brings to life. NBC’s Mysteries of Laura, who also stars Debra Messing, is about a single mom and a NYPD homicide detective who cracks case after case, while raising wild twin boys and locking horns with her less than helpful police detective ex-husband.

In the behind the scenes video, Laz explains to us that this cop drama is different then the other cop shows that we’re used to. It’s definitely a “who-done-it” type of show, but more than that, it’s filled with comedic attributes, which helps to keep the show light and fun.
