This year, the stars arrived at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet in groups, with friends and dressed to impress.
The continuing trends of barely there, sheer, black and outrageous looks were all present on the ladies. At the rate that the barely there trend is going, it will be interesting to see what’s in store for next year. The barest look of the night goes to the host of the night, Miley Cyrus, for her custom Versace ensemble that has been described as a “Chandelier with Suspenders.”
The standouts for the ladies were Vanessa Hudgens, in a flowy “Gypsy Fairy” look that set her apart from everyone else and all of the ladies of Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” crew represented their individuality well with slashes, deep V’s, bold colors and thigh baring ensembles. Disney star, Laura Marano, showed her classic style in a strapless fitted navy dress by Victoria Beckham, while GMA host Rachel Smith looked fab in a vibrant chartreuse fitted dress. Demi Lovato also had a fave look in her fitted pink and sheer Nicolas Jebran dress.
The gentlemen showed up looking particularly dapper and cool. Their looks appeared to be less studied and contrived, even when they showed up as a group, like the fellas from Walk the Moon, who wore dazzling suits. I particularly liked Nick Jonas rocking a full leather Versace look and Miguel’s look of on trend shredded jeans and a brocade jacket. The shoes the guys were rocking were particularly nice, especially Miguel’s and Justin Bieber’s boots, Sweet!
There was something for everyone on the red carpet whether you like it barely there or shimmering from head to toe. The stars turned out and did not disappoint their fashionista fans. (all images Getty Images)
