RED CARPET – White House Correspondents’ Dinner 2015

The 89th Annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner 2015 was held on Saturday and hosted by Actress Cecily Strong. 

Hollywood celebs, media personalities and politicians together for a night of mixing and mingling and lots of laughs. The President was tickled by jokes Cecily Strong tossed his way, but he also got a few good ones in, making the crowd laugh then used the help of his anger translator, Luther, played by Keegan Michael Key (from Key & Peele) to drive home his points.

The Red Carpet was a mix of simple styles, a little color and a little shimmer. The First Lady, Michelle Obama, set the tone and dazzled in a grey shimmery custom Zac Posen gown with a belt detail at the waist! Lavern Cox also chose a fitted grey gown with a simple fish-tale silhouette that looked fabulous. Chrissy Tiegen chose a sparkly Zuhair Murad gown with a deep thigh high slit.

Shades of Red seemed to be a favorite color theme with Idina Menzel in a color block Satin gown, Tracee Ellis Ross in a dramatic cape dress, Connie Britton in a strapless peplum gown and Gina Rodriquez in a muted red cap sleeve fish tale gown.

The elegance factor was really high with Chanel Iman in a the pale blue Grecian style gown by Zuhair Murad and Naya Rivera, looking gorgeous in a fitted long sleeve crepe gown.

Jane Fonda, Jenna Dewan Tatum and Tamron Hall showed us how to work black and Ashley Judd reminded us of spring with her gorgeous floral stapless dress. The fave couple has to be Debra Roberts in her black and white strapless sheath and hubby Al Roker in his white dinner jacket.
