SELF CARE SUNDAY – Baby Soft Skin

Spending this Self-Care Sunday bathing my face in Drunk Elephant’s T.L.C Sukari Babyfacial.

This cute pink bottle is filled with a light-yellow cream that literally “knocks your cells off,” (drunkelephant.com). Alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) and beta hydroxy acid (BHA) are the key components of Babyfacial and the main reason that everyone is raving about it!

Let’s take a quick moment to break down the purpose of AHAs and BHA.

AHAs are water soluble acids that work on the surface of the skin helping to dissolving the “glue” that bonds dead, dull skin to the surface. Being that they are water soluble, they can’t penetrate below the surface but are able to reduce the appearance of dark spots, fine lines, and acne scars.

BHA – which there is only one; salicylic acid – is an oil soluble acid that penetrates deep below the surface of skin. BHA cleans out sebum from pores which reduces oiliness on the surface. Basically, this is the acid needed to help reduce and fight acne.

Now, back to Babyfacial.

Being that this mask contains 25% AHA and 2% BHA it’s a dream mask for soft, smooth, and clear skin. Drunk Elephant also combines antioxidants such as apple fruit, matcha tea, and milk thistle to soothe, hydrate and nourish skin.

I always notice an immediate difference in my facial texture after rinsing this mask off. Eighty dollars is a bit of a splurge for this 1.69 FL OZ bottle, but I promise this is the best at home facial you could ever treat yourself to.  By the next morning, your skin will be glowing and bouncy. You can catch me laying back for 20 minutes, every Sunday, with my face drenched in Babyfacial while reading a book or journaling! What product are you raving about for Self-Care Sunday?
