STREET STYLE – AfroPunk Festival 2015

For 10 Years, AfroPunk has been the Festival of urban culture, inspired by alternative and experimental music. Starting with the 2003 documentary, spotlighting a Black presence in the American punk scene, AfroPunk has been committed to radical thought, DIY aesthetics, rebellious, freethinking risk-takers in music, art, film, comedy, fashion, and the general culture.

The pageantry that is AFROPUNK FEST 2015, at last week’s festival in Brooklyn did not disappoint! The weather brought the heat, the musicians brought the beat and the attendees brought beauty and the trends to watch. This festival has been the home for music and art that does not quite fit into the mainstream, for the last 11 years.

Musicians Grace Jones, Lenny Kravitz, Lionbabe, Lauryn Hill and Vintage Trouble were all Fashion highlights of the festival. AfroPunk is all about self expression, so be inspired by the images that follow and add another accessory, because at AfroPunk Fest, less is definitely not more!
