Street Style – Mixing Paterns
A few years ago, mixing prints was unheard of and against all fashion laws, but today that’s not the case. Designers are now taking plaid and floral, stripes and checkered and making them look as fashionable as ever. I’ll admit, it’s not as easy as they make it look but it’s very do-able. There’s just a few tricks that you’ll have to learn first.
When mixing the prints, look for a common color in both prints. If there isn’t one, it probably won’t work or look great so just move on to the next option. Having that common color brings the two patterns together making them blend seamlessly. Pattern mixing provides your look with a little more dimension, character and gives it that fun factor!
My common color for this look is pink, if you can’t tell 🙂 The pink stripes & flowers fit perfectly together. I added a little white to the look with my clutch, which brings the white in the shoes back up to my dress, making them all tie together 🙂 Get to mixing!
