American Gymnast, dancer in multiple world renowned troupes, actress, model, multi- instrumental musician, social media sensation and now, solo artist! We love the versatility of talents!! Where most would feel the pressure to pursue one talent, you’ve found a way to not only pursue them all, but with great success! What would you attribute that to?
I’ve always had a great work ethic and I attribute that to gymnastics. I also love learning new things and trying new things. I always wanted to challenge myself in everything I do. Personally, I could never just do one thing for the rest of my life.
Coming from a musical family, their influence has obviously rubbed off on you! Share with us though, for you – why a career in music, and why now?
I’ve always wanted to make my own music and perform. I think timing is everything and the timing for it now is just right. Growing up, I also wanted to be in a girl group. Singing and dancing on stage with your friends sounded like so much fun to me.
And, with that said, congratulations on debuting your solo song “Boys”! It’s so relatable, I admittedly gave it a good 5 listens in one sitting (lol). How’s it feel to officially be a solo artist? Is it what you expected?
It’s crazy to say out loud, to be honest! I was in Sephora the other day and these ladies asked what I did and I told them I was an artist! They looked up my song and saved it! It felt real in that moment.
As stated before, you’re often described as a social media sensation with a following of over 11 million across your platforms… wow! Achieving such success means you’ve had to be completely vulnerable. How has that impacted your everyday life?
Finding the right moments to share and to keep private for myself is very important. I never wanted to feel like I’m doing something just for social media. Yes, I post my life and silly videos, but I also like my privacy when I can get it.
Tell us about the personal or future projects you have going on.
I’m working on new songs right now. I have a whole project planned. Also on top of that, my wedding is coming up soon!!
Would you consider yourself more of a beauty girl, fashion girl or both?
I would say I’m more into beauty and skincare! I’ve always loved doing my makeup since I was little.
How would you describe your personal style?
Honestly, it’s kind of laid back! I’m into being comfortable, so whatever that entails!
How much does your home grown Southern California roots play into your personal style, if it does at all?
If laid back and chill is Southern California, then a lot.
When it comes to Red Carpets/Appearances, do you normally have an idea of how you’d like to look? Or are you open minded with your creative team?
I feel like I’m pretty open minded and I’m willing to try new things!
On a normal day, how’re you walking out of the house – from hair and makeup, all the way down to your shoes.
My hair and makeup are usually done. I enjoy sitting down and doing my hair and makeup. It’s my me time. My outfit all depends on what I’m feeling that day!
