With a list of Halloween parties to attend and no money to spend on a fancy costume, I decided to try to create a costume from pieces I already had in my closet. Maybe add a few things from the party store to finish off the look.
I found a green sequin dress at a thrift store a few years ago and while flipping though some celebrity costume pictures for inspiration, I came across Kim Kardashian as Poison Ivy and decided to do my own version of the DC Comics’ Poison Ivy.
Lastly, I found my mom’s old drop waist dress and thought I would make the perfect flapper costume. By adding t- strap platforms fishnets, long gloves and a box clutch, I will look just like a 1920’s Biba ready for a night out on the town. To make sure I master the look, I’m adding a feather boa from an old costume, and an organza fan I found at a garage sale.

This Halloween, I’m going to be creative and make a costume out of what I can put together out of my closet…Give it a try!!
