10 THINGS – Max Ehrich

Get to know 10 Things about Max Erich

When did you know that you would be working in the entertainment industry and how did you get your start in the business?

I’ve been doing shows for as long as I can remember. Whether at family functions or community theatre. I did not know that I would end up in the entertainment industry. It all happened organically. I transferred from a suburban high school in New Jersey to a Professional Performing Arts School in NYC, where I left headshots on a few agents doorsteps. It was then that I ended up getting signed by one and started booking roles in film and television.

Which actors provided you with motivation and inspiration as you started to build your career?

I’ve had some really great acting teachers and co-stars along the way. My parents have also been so supportive of my journey in the industry.

You’ve done quite a bit of work on daytime soaps, which is not as easy at it looks. You guys work hard on those shows. How did those rigorous routines help you prepare you for the type of work you’re doing now?

It was incredibly helpful. On The Young and The Restless, I’ve filmed a scene in one take and sometimes multiple episodes in a day with pretty intense emotional storylines, for example. So that helped me access emotions quickly and learn lines efficiently.

Your latest project, “Walk. Ride. Rodeo” is currently on Netflix. What can you tell us about it?

The film is a true story based on Amberley Snyder, a nationally ranked barrel racer who gets paralyzed, following a horrific car accident. Though doctors tell her that she will never ride again, she refuses to give up. And, against all odds, she goes on to compete in the National Championships.

I play Tate Watkins. He’s a Saddle Bronc rider, who comes into her life during this challenging time and persistently encourages her to start motivationally speaking at FFA conventions and sharing her story. Consequently, he ends up being a romantic partner that keeps supporting her on her fearless journey back in rodeo.

Let’s talk about your other project, American Princess, on Lifetime. How were you first introduced to the show and what was it about the script that made you excited to take this on?

I have been a huge fan of Jenji Kohan ever since WEEDS. Anything she is attached to is fantastic. When I read the witty, heartfelt, hilarious script, I was laughing out loud and got hooked.

On the series, you play the role of Brett Weinbaum. What can you tell us about his personality and what you enjoy most about bringing this character to life?

Without giving too much away, it’s clear when you view the trailer, that he cheats on Amanda on the day of their wedding. That is not the last of Brett in the series. So, I’ll just say, tune in to see how the character evolves after that experience.

Since it’s the first season of the show, what can viewers expect to see from Brett and the rest of the cast?

They can expect to be thoroughly entertained.

We hear you wrote a song featured in “Walk. Ride. Rodeo.” What was the inspiration behind it and where can we find it?

My song “Ride” was inspired by Amberley Snyder’s story and was actually co-written with her. It is all about never giving up, even when major obstacles come along. We wanted to capture the essence of the underlying inspiring message of the film. “Ride” is on all streaming services and the music video (which features Amberley) is on the official YouTube Chanel for Netflix.

When it comes to fashion, which designers and styles appeal most to your personality?

Anything that feels true to myself. I don’t have a particular designer that I prefer over the other. Definitely, I would say that I dress outside of the box.

We look forward to seeing how everything unfolds on Lifetime’s American Princess. What other projects do you have coming up in the near future?

I am releasing much more original music this year. I write my own stuff on the piano and it’s a huge passion of mine. Additionally, I have other acting projects in the works as well.

Max Ehrich is releasing his upcoming single, “Somebody Else,” on Friday, June 28.  Check it out on Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud and more this Friday!
