I was really excited to write about the gorgeous orange and black lace dress that was featured in our issue 6 on Ms. California, Alyssa Campnella, by celebrity designer Lauren Elaine. Lace happens to be a giant trend this spring. Designers showed lace with more contemporary, sometimes tougher fabrics like leather and denim, and pairing spring like fabrics with dark lace overlay.
It’s easy for lace to look dated and remind you of your grandma’s table cloth. To keep from looking like a vintage hanky, be sure to pair lace with an unusual color or wear lace in unconventional way, like a high wasted short, or a sexy jumpsuit. Doing this will keep your lace current, and make it look modern. You’ve got to give lace a chance. Have Fun and Enjoy!
