On Trend with @RegardMag …. Super Bright Colors

Spring fashion colors are usually subtle with pastels and neutrals ruling the scene. But this year, prepare to see bold, daring colors dominate. One of the biggest trends on the spring/summer runways this year is super bright colors. But unless you work for Barnum and Bailey, it might be hard to translate the hottest runway looks to wearable ensembles for real life. Here are a few tips to get your started as well as 3 outfits for your inspiration.

1.If you are new to the color blocking trend, take baby steps by mixing in a neutral. For example, a muted olive green skirt pair well with a lime colored top. Citrus colors all go together, so mixing in a mustard yellow shoe and an orange purse add small pops of color, but don’t distract from any other element, keeping the outfit cohesive.

2.      You can have fun with more than one color or tone in an outfit, but the colors must all be harmonious and have a purpose. For instance pairing a blue pant with a lighter blue shirt establishes the foundation for the outfit while adding a pink bow tie and yellow sweater creates dimension. The pink clutch ties in with the pink tie and the shoes bring it all together. Try to choose a 3 color combo. Any more than that and you can begin to resemble a clown school applicant.

3.     If you prefer more muted colors, you can still be a part of this trend. Focus on different tones of the same 2 colors or try a new and innovative color combination. One of my favorites is chocolate brown and coral with yellow for a jolt of color and burgundy to add depth.
