This year’s 2015 Oscars Red Carpet was as dazzling as everyone expected. Hollywood’s A-list Royalty came out dressed to impress!! Neil Patrick Harris handily performed his hosting duties, with lots of humor and even some song & dance. One of the highlights of the show, was the medley of tunes from the classic movie, The Sound of Music, sung by Lady Gaga. This year, the Best Picture went to Birdman!! The array of elegant gowns on the red carpet was impressive. So many classic and stylish looks as well as great color, was represented. Would you like us to break it down for you? Well, here we go!
BEADING
Beading is back and was a theme throughout the night with stars like Lupita Nyong’o in a white pearl beaded Dior, Emma Stone in a chartreuse Elie Saab gown. Julianne Moore (Best Actress Oscar winner) was in a Chanel beaded gown, Carmen Ejogo in a Houghton Gown and Chrissey Tiegen looked stunning in a Zuhair Murad gown.
CHIFFON
Chiffon was a gorgeous option worn by Oprah Winfrey in a custom Vera Wang, Octavia Spencer in a mint Tadashi Shoji and America Ferrera in a flowy Jenny Packham gown.
BALL GOWN
Big ball gown dresses were also a favorite for Lady Gaga in Azzedine Alaia, Viola Davis in a dazzling Zac Posen gown, Jennifer Lopez in a tulle Elie Saab and Felicity Jones in an Alexander McQueen halter gown.
STANDOUTS
A few standouts for creative dresses were Marion Cotillard in a back buslted Dior gown, Laura Dern in a gunmetal Alberta Ferretti strapless gown.
SILHOUETTE
The classic curve hugging, fitted silhouette was also very popular with Reese Witherspoon in an off the shoulder Tom Ford gown, Rosamund Pike in a red lace Givenchy, Jennifer Hudson in a yellow Romona Keveza, Zoe Saldana in a curve hugging, draped Atelier Versace and Dakota Johnson in a bright red one-shoulder Saint Laurent.
THE GENTLEMEN
The guys represented in well fitted tuxes with classic black being the most popular as selected by Michael Keaton, Ryan Seacrest, Chris Pine, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Chris Evans, Channing Tatum. However, David Oyelowo was a stand out for us, in a burgundy Dolce & Gabbana tux, as was Jared Leto in a pale blue Givenchy tux.
